My passion for art is about color. I employ color to express how I feel about a subject, and my work is recognizable for the particularly vibrant palette that I choose. I simplify shapes in order to draw with my brush, and layer colors so that they glow. Much of my inspiration comes from the autumn colors which are especially brilliant in northern Ontario. I work in both watercolour and acrylic. Both mediums offer the freedom to explore colors as vibrant and exciting as my imagination.

My most recent work has been a series of figurative pieces exploring everyday activities.
It all began with a fascination with the silent occupation of walking the dog. Between the dog and its owner nothing need to be said, the calm relaxation that is mutually enjoyable became a huge inspiration for my work.
Our everyday world consists of many similar uncelebrated activities;   such as shopping, eating  and playing, reading.
I wanted to explore our daily lives:  peek at some of the activities we do without thinking about their profundity.  By taking each as a moment in time, it allows you to stop and think about the pleasure in the activity.  I hope you find yourself in these images.
